DATE:                   Saturday and Sunday, October 7-8, 2017

START TIME:     7:30 AM to 8:30 AM (Both Saturday and Sunday; Hikers need to sign in both days).

DAY 1 (Saturday): Registration for hike is from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.   A group of hikers will leave to hike together at 8:00AM (no specific leader/maps provided), hike is mostly on Mad River Recreation Trail and easy to guide. Please see Registration for Hikes information for details. Please bring completed Registration Form with you to Hike.

DAY 2 (Sunday): Registration and sign-in (for those who participated in Day 1 Hike) are from 7:30AM AM to 8:30 AM.  Please see Registration for Hikes information for details. An experienced hike leader will start hike at 8:00AM.

***Hiking the entire distance on either Day 1 or Day 2 of hike is acceptable. Participants must turn in Registration Form or sign-in between 7:30-8:30 AM on Day 1 or Day 2. Also, please sign-in on form stating: Participants Completing Entire Hike in 1 day. Entire distance of hike must be completed during scheduled event.

DISTANCE:          Total Distance for both days combines is 21.1 miles; 34 kilometers

WHERE:               Downtown Dayton, Deeds Park to Yellow Springs Station, Yellow Springs

START POINT DAY 1:            Downtown Dayton (Deeds Point)

END POINT DAY 1:                 Central Park (Fairborn)

TOTAL DISTANCE DAY 1:    10.5 miles; 16.9 kilometers

START POINT DAY 2:            Central Park (Fairborn)

END POINT DAY 2:                 Yellow Springs Station (Yellow Springs)

TOTAL DISTANCE DAY 2:     10.6 Miles; 17.1 Kilometers

HIKE DETAILS: Hikers will travel along paved bicycle path and some road walk. Passing through Eastwood Metro Park, Huffman Metro Park, National Museum of the Air Force, WPAFB, Fairborn, and end in Yellow Springs. Participants are encouraged to hike as much or as little as they are able. FOLLOW THE BLUE BLAZES at all times. Day 1 travels along the Mad River Recreation Trail and the Huffman Prairie Bikeway ending at Central Park. Day 2 will take hikers along side, residential, and country roads with a short jaunt in the Cold Springs Reserve, and finally ending with a short walk through downtown Yellow Springs then to Grinnell Road along the bike path.

Parking, Drop-off and Pick-up:

Parking, Drop-off, Pick-up and Carpooling are up to each hiker to coordinate. There are NO SHUTTLES at end of hike, please be sure to plan accordingly.

DAY 1

START:  Deeds Point MetroPark located at 510 Webster St. Dayton, OH 45402. Parking available near RiverScape, take bridge east of RiverScape and head north to Deeds Point/Park (over river). RiverScape is to your left as you cross over the bridge (white canopy). Area in closest proximity to Deeds Park is under construction, very difficult to park off Webster street.
